Raj by the Sea: Look Book, July 2026

Rhode Island native Elizabeth Eckel and I have been working on our block prints for over six years. Raj by the Sea are handmade prints and re purposed fabrics combining the ancient tradition of Indian block printing with coastal inspiration. During the global pandemic, we commissioned the late artist and musician Jon Campbell to carve us a stamp of his original 'flounder.'

With Elizabeth's collection of exquisite hand carved antique teak stamps from India, we discovered that the quintessential paisley design could look a lot like an ocean wave. Then, with more laughter and deep conversations in our studio in Charlestown, Rhode Island, more designs and improved technique was born. Elizabeth lives and works in India, so our partnership takes on authenticity even though I haven't visited her there yet.

Since we love the regional colors found on the coastline of Rhode Island during summer and fall, we remain loyal to them.

Six years later, we are ready to go to market. We are ready to digitize our collections. But first - we must create a look book.
